Aliakbar Gharibshahi topped the podium in the men's up to 107kg on Sunday morning 8 Sep.

 

Iran NPC, Paris:

On The final day of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Iran's two-time world champion Aliakbar Gharibshahi and Mongolia's Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar, in the men's up to 107kg, were engaged in an intriguing battle of Paralympic records before the former pulled it off in style.

The 42-year-old Para Powerlifter lifted 247kg for the first Paralympic record before Enkhbayar broke it by one kilogram.

Gharibshahi however came back to snatch the record again and his first Paralympic gold medal.
