Iran National Paralympic
Committee (NPC) is pleased to announce the results of the 2025 Athletes'
Commission elections, which took place from January 20 to 21.
For the second time, the NPC's
Athletes' Commission voting was conducted online, allowing 248 athlete
representatives to cast their ballots. This online approach ensured widespread
accessibility and participation across the Paralympic community. By providing
athletes with a platform to elect their representatives, the NPC aimed to
promote inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration in the development of
Paralympic sports in Iran.
The ten newly elected or re-elected
members, confirmed by the election committee, are as follows (listed
alphabetically by last name):
Seyed Meysam Bani Taba – Para Judo
Sadegh Bigdeli – Sitting Volleyball
Hamed Haghshenas – Para Taekwondo
Sadegh Kalhor – Para Skiing
Zeinab Maleki – Sitting Volleyball
Alireza Mokhtari – Athletics PI
Hashemiyeh Motaghian – Athletics PI
Mahdi Olad – Athletics VI
Hajar Safarzadeh – Athletics VI
Ahmadreza Shah Hosseini – Blind
Football
Additionally, the two next-ranked
candidates, Asghar Azizi Aghdam (Para Taekwondo) and Maliheh Safaei (Para
Chess), will serve as Alternate Representatives.
Appointed by the Iran NPC, Sareh
Javanmardi has also been added to the Athletes' Commission as the
representative of the Asian Paralympic Committee's Athletes' Committee.
This announcement reflects the Iran
NPC's commitment to empowering athletes and fostering collaboration in shaping
the future of Paralympic sports.
The National Paralympic Committee's AC acts as the
representative voice for Iranian Para athletes.
