On Monday, February 6th, competitors raced in Para Alpine, Para Snowboard and Para Nordic events at the 2023 FIS Para Skiing Open National Championships.
In second day of the 2023 FIS Para
Skiing Open National Championships, the competitors raced in Para Alpine, Para
Snowboard and Para Nordic events at the Tochal and Shemshak resort of Iran on 6
February.
Para Snowboard
The Para Snowboard skiers launched
their competitions in Tochal resort on Monday.
On the men's side, Iran’s Pouria Khaliltash,
Mehrdad Mahdizadeh and Mohammad Mohammadpour took first, second and third in
the UL category.
Farhad Alvandi was at the top of the Sbl1
podium, followed by Hossein Solghani.
In women's side there were not enough
female competitors to run all categories of Para Snowboard, Iranian Sedigheh
Rouzbeh stood at the top of the Sbn2 podium.
Para Alpine
At the end of the second day of Para
Alpine races, Armenia’s Abkarian Nazarian won the title in the men’s side, followed
by Iranian Seyed Ahmad Jafari and Gholamreza Panahi.
In the women’s race, it was the Maryam
Hajilou (IRI) and Maryam Ghasemi (IRI) show. Hajilou took the victory over
Ghasemi.
Para Nordic
The second day of Para Nordic events
ran on Monday, February 6th in Shemshak resort, situated to the
north-east of Tehran in the Alborz mountain range.
In the vision impaired category, Iran’s
Marjan Fayyazi topped 5km individual free race of women and Milad Moradi also
came out on top of the 10km individual free races in men’s side.
Meanwhile in the standing categories,
Abolfazl Khatibi earned the victory in the males’10 km individual won the title,
followed by Peiman Salehi and Amir Sohrabi.
Through the inconvenience weather, the FIS Para
Skiing Open National Championships takes a brief holiday break, today.
The competition will be concluded on
Wednesday, February 8th.
