In the third day of the Dubai 2023 GP, Iranian visually impaired runner Hajar Safarzadeh stood the second place in women’s 400m race.
Following eight-time paralympic
champion of Cuba’s Omara Durand, who won the title of women’s 400m race in a
time of 56.32 seconds, Iranian Hajar Safarzadeh (T12) achieved a silver
medal with a career best time of 59.65S.
The Chinese representative ran
1.01.15 seconds as the third-place finisher. Running in the same race, Iran’s
Fatemeh Amirzadegani also ran a career best time of 1.04.26 seconds to finish
fifth.
Meanwhile, Iranian visually impaired shot
putter Saman Pakbaz stood fourth with a throw of 15.19 meters. Hasan Bajoulvand
had also ended in five place.
In women’s discus throw, Khadijeh
Abdi also finished fifth with 26.38 meters on her best try.
Iran’s delegation comprising 22
athletes, 7 coaches and 5 staff has been participated in the 2023 World Para
Athletics Grand Prix, 14th Fazza International Para Athletics.
The event is running in Dubai, the
UAE from 22nd February – 3rd March 2023.
