Day 8- Mahdi Olad hit new heights in Asia with his silver-medal winning Discus throw, today.

 

Iran NPC, Tehran- Mahdi Olad, who had defended his F11shotput title on Wednesday, switched to the Discus Throw this morning at Charlety Stadium.

Iran’s shot-put paralympic and world Holder, with a silver medal winning 43.73-meter throw, in his last attempt, broke own Asian Discus record on Saturday (15 July).

In a repeat of Tokyo final, Olad battled against his Brazilian rival Alessandro Da Silva (45.30), and finished second on the field. 

Alvaro del Amo Cano with 37.60 picked up his second silver in Paris.

 

Team Iran have already collected ten Paralympic quota places and six colorful medals (3 gold, 2 silver and one bronze) at the events.

The Tenth Edition of Paris Para Athletics World Championships is taking place between 8 and 17 July 2023 serves as the qualifier for next year’s Paralympic Games.
