Iran NPC, Tehran- Ali Pirouj picked a silver for Iran at the 2023 Para Athletics World
Championships during the evening session of on Saturday (15 July).
There were two Iranian representatives
in men's Javelin Throw F13 final in the field of Charlety Stadium, on day eight.
Tokyo silver medallist Ali Pirouj
secured his second place on the world podium with a throw of 63.70 and also, Sajad
Nikparast came to the fourth with his second attempt of 59.69.
Britain’s Daniel Pembroke (70.50) and Cuba’s Ulicer
Aguilera Cruz (59.79) claimed gold and bronze medals.
In the morning of day eight, Iran’s Mahdi Olad collected
his second medal in Paris and added a silver of Discus throw to the Shot put
gold in F11.
During the evening session also, Seyed Aliasghar Javanmardi finished fourth
with a 15.09 F35 Shotput throw and Iran’s Milad Ramezani set an Area record
clocking 47:80 in men's 400m T20 Final race and stood fifth place.
Team Iran have already collected seven colorful medals (3
gold, 3 silver and one bronze) at the events.
The Tenth Edition of Paris Para
Athletics World Championships is taking place between 8 and 17 July 2023,
serving as the qualifier for next year’s Paralympic Games.
