Iran’s men win their first-ever medal of the World Championships in Dubai, today on 20 June.
Iran NPC, Tehran- Today, “Dream Comes True” for Iran’s wheelchair basketball as
its men seize a historic bronze medal at the 2023 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships and
pave the way for recaching Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

remarkable journey in Dubai World Championships.
Iranian players with a passionate 72-54
triumph over the Netherlands in the IWBF third-place playoff match at the Dubai WTC Hall, Court 1, and become
the first Asian men’s wheelchair basketball squad to secure a spot on the IWBF
World Podium.
Omid Hadiazhar (4.0-4.5), a key figure of team Iran all the tournament, nominated among Men’s All-Star Teams.
The squad had been reached the third-place match, with two losses to holder GB and paralympic champion the USA, three victories over Iraq, France and Germany and also, a second
loss to the GB in his last four.
